Town Clerk Karen Dowen would like to inform Greenfield residents that the DEC’s new paper tag hunting licenses are available for purchase today, August 1, 2024. The DEC announced in February a new modernized license purchasing process that changed the hunting tags from the stock synthetic paper to plain paper. Read the entire DEC press release here. 

Additionally, when hunters and anglers are afield, proof of licensure can be shown electronically through the HuntFishNY mobile app. The app is also a fast and easy way for hunters to report their game harvests. Currently, the only option for backtags and carcass tags will be plain paper.
